Scripture Meditations
Each session offers Scripture reflections for use during personal times with God between group meetings. These highly interactive meditations are designed to help participants make connections between the chapter themes and daily life.
Formation Activities
Practical activities that help weave the truths of the lesson throughout the participants' lives are included with each lesson. These activities are unique in their focus on finding ordinary daily moments (driving the car, walking to the mailbox, doing projects at work, fixing meals, reading the newspaper), as arenas in which to experience intimate interaction with God.
Group Discussion
During group times participants share impressions and insights that God stirred through the readings, Bible reflections and formation activities.
Sharing of Faith Stories
Group members share the stories of their personal journey with God. Such sharing is mutually encouraging, deepening bonds between members.
Group Bible Meditation and Worship
WellSpring believes that people develop a taste for intimacy with God by personally experiencing him. The small group sessions facilitate personal encounters with God through group and individual Bible meditation and worship. These encounters, arising from the biblical texts associated with the topic themes, give participants a deeper hunger for God as well as increased confidence and skills to commune with him personally in quiet times and in the ordinary activities of life.
Safety to be Authentic - Group Covenant
Each group draws up a covenant touching upon expectations for the group environment - safety to share openly and honestly, confidentiality, lesson preparation, attendance, positive contribution to the group, and more.
The Members are the Ministers
WellSpring believes that as temples of the Holy Spirit, group participants have much to minister to one another. The
Soul Craving materials are designed to mine the wisdom and experience of the group as a key resource for inspiration and instruction. This creates a wonderful, Spirit-inspired group dynamic. It results too in long-term, loving and supportive relationships that last long after the formal group is over.
